I find tranquility in the practice of art.
I capture dreams by physical creation
I balance the chaos of life with color.
I am inspired by human interaction.
I am constantly searching for the visual to reach the visionary.
& while the paint is drying; I gather my thoughts through flow.
About the Artist
Alyssa Prince is a 26 year-old artist from Flint, Michigan. She graduated from Western Michigan University in December 2013 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts. Though, on paper, her BFA degree holds it's emphasis in the painting program, her time studying was also spent experimenting with many different mediums including ceramics, printmaking, digital media and alternative processes.
Alyssa has been doing live art for four years. Within those years she has had the opportunity to paint for some of her favorite musical artists that have played throughout the Kalamazoo and the Midwest. Most recently, she was featured as a live artist at Summer Camp Music Festival 2016 and Rootwire Music and Arts Festival 2016. Alyssa has also worked to bring the live art experience (whether it be painting, installation, or chalk art) to other events that haven't hosted live artists in the past, such as the annual hot air balloon launch at the Kalamazoo Air Zoo, Kalamazoo Art Hop events she has participated in, and other local restaurants and breweries. In October 2016, she was hired to take on the position of installation and art direction for GL&M Productions INC.
Her recent work is focused on combining the visual with the visionary. Using traditional techniques and mediums mixed with contemporary technology, she works to create a bridge between the physical and spiritual that will supply a never-ending opportunity to learn and grow with her art.
